What Is The Difference Between Microblading, Nano Brows, Ombré Brows, Shading and Combination Brows?

Cosmetic makeup procedures used to be for those who had “reached a certain age” suggesting that this service was really for the more “mature” client. However, that has certainly changed and microblading and cosmetic tattooing are now sought after by women (and men) across all age groups, in particular among the 18-34 crowd. The goal: to make life easier and to have fun playing with our ideas of beauty!

Unless you’re working in the beauty field or are a beauty connoisseur you may not be familiar with all of the available procedures, or their names. As two procedures sound quite similar it is easy to mistake microblading with micro-needling. There are some important distinctions between these and similar services.

Regardless of their differences – one thing is for sure: you’ll never plan on using another brow product again.

There are many different words and many different ways to describe permanent/semi-permanent eyebrow tattoos. It is confusing but this will hopefully clear things up and set the record straight.

The type of permanent makeup solution best suited for you will be based on your age, skin type (normal to oily skin) and lifestyle. A knowledgable permanent makeup professional will be able to ask you discovery questions and direct you into the best approach.

This graphic shows at a high level the names and general look and feel for each brow type.
